Don't Pass the Buck When It Comes to Failure

"Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again." - Richard Branson

I hope he espoused that from his private island.  If so, it kinda puts in perspective the differences in the scope of "failures" from one person to another.  And THAT leads me to Karl Urban.  First off, I'm a fan.  I think he's great as "Bones" in the new Star Trek flicks.  (See, I CAN be positive).  BUT... Mr. Urban is light-years off the mark when it comes to his take on why his remake Dredd was...

We're Only Laughing Because We're Too Pissed To Cry

"Man, I'm tired of being right."  - Ace Ventura

I know, I know... this horse has been beaten to a mashed, thin pulp.  But when The Hollywood Reporter serves up a quote like this, I can't help but puff up my chest and say, "See, damn it... I was right!"  It deals with the top 20 quotes from Jimmy Kimmel as he hosted the annual ABC Upfront gathering (which touts the networks upcoming shows and plans).  And this is his quote:

"In order for broadcast television to survive, we have to stay...

The Rehash of a Reboot Ahead of The Remake

"Change begets change as much as repetition reinforces repetition." - Bill Drayton

For the Love of God... shoot me now.  You know, maybe it IS just me.  Maybe I'm missing the boat on all these reboots, remakes or reimaginings.  Perhaps it is I who fail to see the forest for the trees in this endless landscape of "been there, done that... so let's do it again."  Could it be that all my effort, energy and exasperation has been for naught against the tidal wave of recreation in Hollywood?...

If It's Not Around, It Can't Be A Problem

"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading." - Lao Tzu

By far my blog on the dismissal of Stana Katic was (to date) the most retweeted, shared and talked about of my writings.  So, naturally, after ABC officially pulls the plug on "Castle," I'm inspired to muse about the alphabet network's antics once again.  I mean, I can get lowering the boom on "Nashville" and "Agent Carter."  But, once again, devote fans on a hit show are left with NO CLOSURE as those in the...

Its Title is Truly Truth in Advertising

"There's nothing wrong with being shallow as long as you're insightful about it." -  Dennis Miller

Oh boy, here we go again.  Sony Pictures has just rolled out the latest trailer for the, ahem, summer "thriller" "The Shallows."  But, before I leap upon the soapbox and proceed to shred this film, I will start positive.   If you're a fan of "Sharknado," it looks like you'll love "The Shallows."   There, happy?   Now, let there be blood in the water and we may need a bigger blog.

This is Where I Say, "I Told You So"

"It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." -  Herman Melville

The headline from The Hollywood Reporter says it all - 'Ghostbusters' Is the Most Disliked Movie Trailer in YouTube History.   *Sigh*  When your unnecessary attempt to remake a classic ranks up there with the loathing reserved for the likes of "The Biebs," you know your up shit's creek.  But, if you're a regular reader of this blog (and I thank you if you are!) you know... I called THIS!  I said this...
